Erik Weingold has been practicing securities law since 1995 and has been drafting Private Placement Memorandums since 1998. His career spans both sides of the transactional table: as an attorney advising companies through the complexities of raising capital, and as an entrepreneur who has lived the experience of building a business from the ground up.

Early in his career, Erik served as General Counsel to Wormhole Technologies, Inc., a startup encryption software company, where he drafted his first PPM and guided the company through a seed capital raise of over $500,000. That experience shaped his understanding of what founders actually need from their securities counsel: clarity, speed, and legal work that is done right the first time.

He subsequently rose to corporate counsel at a global Fortune 500 company, where he navigated corporate securities law at an international scale. In 2005, he began preparing PPMs for his own clients under the PPM LAWYERS name. In 2015, he formalized the practice by founding Weingold Law PLLC, now operating as PPM LAWYERS, as a fully organized law firm built around one specialization: Regulation D private placements.

Since starting PPM LAWYERS in 2005, Erik and his team have worked with hundreds of clients across all industries and sectors, preparing well over 500 PPMs and documenting more than $1 billion in private capital raises nationwide. He brings 50 combined years of securities law experience to every engagement, with a genuine admiration for the entrepreneurs and capital raisers the firm serves.

A 2002 graduate of Rutgers-Newark School of Law, where he served as an editor of the Rutgers Law Review, Michael completed his undergraduate education at the University of New Hampshire in 1998 with a B.S. in Environmental Conservation and French. He is fluent in both Spanish and French.
